Service Agreement, version 1.7
These are our terms. You sign them, along with your order summary, before you pay.
Version 1.7, November 4, 2026. Fingerprint (SHA-256): 1289272a7433e53c5d47ff4bf6af2501b5dd51b0015aa214a75ede9f60df7d01
This Service Agreement is between Punita Rice, doing business as A Few Blocks (“we”), and the business named in your order (“you”). It covers every order placed on afewblocks.com and every custom quote we send. Your order summary, shown when you sign, is part of this agreement.
1. Who can sign
You confirm you’re at least 18 and authorized to agree to this for the business named in your order. Our services are for businesses, not personal use.
2. What you’re buying
You get the service, add-ons or quoted work listed in your order summary, as described there. Unless your order lists it, we don’t do photography, logo design from scratch, paid ads, printing, domain purchase or renewal, email hosting, or changes to how your booking or ordering system works. We link to that system; we don’t rebuild it.
A Landing page is one page on your domain with your business details, photos and a link to how people book or order. It doesn’t include extra pages, a blog or ongoing search work, though you can add those as add-ons.
Monthly care includes hosting, the site editor, up to 3 Small changes a month, and keeping your hours current on your Google Business Profile. Monthly search includes everything in Monthly care, with no limit on Small changes, plus upkeep of your Google Business Profile, 4 new blog posts a month, fixes to your site that help it show up in search, a monthly report with your search numbers, and a 30-minute video or phone call each month at a time we agree on by email. Changes, posts and calls you don’t use don’t carry over to the next month. Bigger changes, such as new pages or a redesign, aren’t included and are quoted separately.
3. What we need from you, and when work starts
After you pay, your private client portal lists what we need: your business details, files such as your logo, menu or price list and photos, and invites to your accounts. Work starts only once everything on that list is in. We then schedule your build. We don’t promise set turnaround times, and we don’t offer rush work.
If we haven’t started your build within 60 days after your checklist is complete, you can cancel for a full refund.
If your checklist isn’t complete within 90 days of payment, we’ll email you. If it’s still not complete 14 days after that, we may close the order and refund what you paid minus a setup fee of 10% of the order, at least $50.
We may decline or cancel an order before work starts, and refund it in full.
4. Your review and approval
We send you the work to review before anything goes live, and nothing is published without your OK. Your order includes 2 rounds of changes during review. After that, each change is a Small change at the price on our pricing page.
When we send work for review, you have 14 days to approve it or send changes. If we don’t hear back, we treat it as approved.
5. Prices, taxes and payment
You pay in US dollars, through Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Prices don’t include taxes. We add any sales tax that applies.
Most orders are paid in full when you sign. The Landing page, the Full site, and any custom quote over $1,000 unless the quote says otherwise, are paid in two parts: a 50% deposit when you sign, and the rest when you approve your site in your portal. Your order summary shows both amounts. We don’t put your site live until the final payment is in, and we only ask for it once you’ve approved the site.
Monthly plans renew every month, from the day you order, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your portal, without contacting us. If its price changes, we email you at least 30 days ahead, and the new price applies from the next month after that.
6. Refunds and canceling
If you change your mind before we start your build, you get a full refund, including any deposit. Once we’ve started, there’s no refund, and a deposit isn’t refundable, because the time is set aside for your work. You still get everything you ordered. The 60-day rule and the closed-order rule in section 3 also apply. Add-ons follow the same rule as the service you ordered them with.
Canceling a monthly plan stops the next monthly charge. There’s no refund for the month you’re in, and your support continues until it ends.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. If you file a chargeback while a refund request with us is still open, we may end your hosting and site editor access.
7. Hosting and the site editor
One-time orders, including a Landing page, include 12 months of hosting and the site editor, counted from the day your site goes live. After that, hosting and the editor are $19 a month, charged to the card you paid with, until you cancel. They’re included instead while you have a monthly plan. If you cancel a monthly plan, hosting continues at $19 a month once your free months are over, with at least 30 days before the first charge. Your portal shows the date of the first charge, and Stripe emails you a reminder before it. You can cancel hosting in your portal at any time. Your site stays up until the end of the time that’s free or paid for, then goes offline.
You can download a copy of your site as plain files (pages and photos) from your portal at any time, and host it anywhere. When you stop being a client, the site editor stops working.
If a payment for hosting or a monthly plan fails, Stripe tries again and emails you, and your portal shows a button to pay or update your card. If it isn’t paid within 14 days of the first failed payment, we pause the site editor. If it still isn’t paid 30 days after that, your site shows a notice that it’s temporarily unavailable. We don’t delete it, and paying brings it back right away.
8. Who owns what
You own your business name, logo, photos, text, domain and online listings, before and after working with us. Once your order is paid in full, you own the final text, design and images we made specifically for your site. We keep ownership of our templates, code, editor and tools, and give you a permanent, free license to use them as part of your site.
We won’t show your site or your results in our own marketing without your written OK, which you can give by ticking the box when you sign.
9. Your content
You’re responsible for making sure the details you give us are accurate. You’re responsible for your products, prices, menu and allergen information, and for any claims on your site, including anything you edit yourself. You confirm you have the right to use every photo, logo and piece of text you send or upload.
You’ll cover our reasonable costs if someone makes a claim against us because of content or materials you provided or edited, or because of your products or services. We may remove content that we believe is unlawful or infringes someone’s rights.
10. Access to your accounts
You invite us to your accounts, such as your Google Business Profile, Search Console, domain and booking system. We never ask for your passwords, and you can remove our access at any time. We act only within the access you give us and only for the work you ordered. When you stop being a client, we remove ourselves from your accounts within 14 days.
We never post, write or buy reviews. Replies to your reviews are posted only after you approve them.
11. No guarantees, and limits
We set things up the way Google and other services ask, but they decide what shows up and where. We don’t promise rankings, traffic, calls or sales.
We provide our work and our hosting “as is”. We make no warranties of any kind beyond what this agreement says, including no implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
The most we owe you for any claim is what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. We aren’t responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or outages and changes at services we don’t run, such as Google, Stripe, Cloudflare or your domain company.
12. Your information
We store what you give us only to do the work, as described on our privacy page. We keep signed agreements and payment records for 7 years. We don’t sell or share your information with anyone except the services that run ours, Cloudflare and Stripe.
13. Changes to this agreement
Each version of this agreement has a number, a date and a fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash of its text), and every version stays readable at its own address. A new version applies only to orders placed after it’s published. If you’re on a monthly plan, we ask you to accept a new version in your portal.
14. Signing electronically
You agree to sign electronically. Your typed name and the box you tick count as your signature. We keep a permanent record of the version you signed, its fingerprint, your name, business, email, order, the time, and the internet address and browser you signed from.
15. Disputes and law
If something goes wrong, contact us first through the form at afewblocks.com/contact, and we’ll try to resolve it within 30 days. This agreement is governed by the laws of Maryland, United States. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Maryland, or to small claims court.
16. General
We work as an independent contractor, and we may use subcontractors and software tools. Your order summary and this agreement are the whole agreement between us. If any part of it can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. You can’t transfer this agreement to someone else without our OK. We may transfer this agreement to a business entity we own or control by emailing you; your terms and price don’t change. We send notices by email to the address on your order; you send them to us through the form at afewblocks.com/contact. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside our control, such as outages or illness. Sections 6, 8, 9, 11 and 15 continue to apply after this agreement ends.
